Buy Apple and get wax free!!!

Yes i know that these stupid guys polish apples and make it shine… But i haven’t tested or tried to find out if those are correct.

Recently I bought 1 kg of so called “WASHINGTON apple” which costs me 110 rupees per Kg. There was other breeds of apple like China Apple, fuji apple etc and the price for these apples was comparatively less. I selected the best apple just to make sure that what i buy is having good quality. Alfter all its something which we buy for eating.. rt..

That night, we planned to have the same apples for eating.. I took the same and was washing as usual. The apple was so shining. I found that some water got collect in little drops on the surface of the apple as if it highly waxed.

I decided to find out. See the shining!!! So tempting to buy rt?? No doubt we buy it for 110 rupees per Kg.

I just brushed with a knife through the surface and i was able to see white particles coming. After a close look, i understood that it is nothing but WAX!!!!

I heated the apple over flame and when wiped the surface with a knife and now see the real wax…

So now lets eat Waxed Apple…

    I knew that the shine on these apples are not natural, but waxed. One of my friends had told this to me, never tried to experiment nor tried to prove as you did. Great Job. Thanks.

    I found it in Australia too …
    curious when I see something wrong with the shining of my apple (I bought it yesterday in Woolworth). Its shine is just something not natural and some part get no shine at all.

    I think some one must polish it with something. I google it to finding out what the hell it is… and I found you site …

    do some search …. this wax is natural formation on the apple not …that some one mix it

    Hi,

    Thanks for the comments. But i want to make this point.
    Yes, there is natural wax in some fruits like apple. But that will be lost after harvest. Apples are washed and brushed to remove leaves and field dirt before they are packed in cartons for shipping to your local market. This cleaning process removes the fruit’s original wax coating,

    So to protect the fruit many apple packers will re-apply a commercial grade wax

    i do accept that …..! after washing apple they apply commercial grade wax (whic are not harmfull)

    we should not create panic …..among people like india tv did

    Apples are naturally quoted with wax, but washington apples comes with artificially applied waxes which is legalised in US. In India I do not know what wax is applied and if it is regulated by law or not. If parafin wax is applied it is harmful for health. Any way thanks for the observation and the effort made to expose it.
